Getting Started

What types of photo sessions do you provide?
I specialize in a variety of photoshoot types, including personal portraits, couples, secret proposals, families, maternity, weddings, events, christenings/baptism, editorial, destination shoots, and fashion weeks.
For newborn photography, I want to note that I don’t have a studio and I’m not providing traditional-style newborn sessions. However, I am available for lifestyle sessions in the comfort of your home, where I can capture beautiful moments with your baby and your family in a more natural and relaxed setting.

I don't know which photo package I should choose.
I understand that choosing the right photo package can be overwhelming. To help you make an informed decision, here are some factors to consider when choosing between my photo packages:
- Determine the purpose of your photoshoot — Are you planning a personal, engagement/couple, or family photoshoot? Each type of shoot has different requirements and may require a different package length. For example, a family photoshoot may require more time to get group shots and individual portraits of each family member. Choosing a longer photo package for family photoshoots that involve toddlers or more than two kids is recommended because Toddlers, in particular, can be unpredictable, and they may need more time to get comfortable with the photographer, the camera, and the environment. This extra time can help them feel more at ease and result in better photos. A longer package provides more flexibility for outfit changes, location changes, and breaks as needed, which can help keep toddlers engaged and cooperative throughout the photoshoot. With more time, there’s a better chance of capturing candid moments and creating lasting memories with your family.
- Consider the number of locations and outfits you want to include — If you want to include multiple locations and outfits, you may need a longer package to accommodate the additional time needed. Think about the number of photos you want to receive — Each package comes with a set number of edited digital photos.
- Consider how many photos you want to receive and choose a package that aligns with your needs.
- Consider your budget — Packages range in price, so it’s essential to choose a package that fits within your budget. Ultimately, the choice between packages comes down to the specific needs of your photoshoot.
If you’re still unsure which package is right for you, feel free to contact me to discuss your needs, and I can recommend the best package to suit your requirements.
And keep in mind, you can upgrade your photo package on the day of the photo session if there is time available (availability may be limited, especially during peak seasons.)
The Photos
(Delivery, Editing, and More)
How and when will I receive my photos?
1. All files will be delivered in digital format through a personalized online gallery accessible via a link. Prints are not provided.
2. For regular sessions:
- If you want to select your photos for editing hi-res versions, just let me know about it right after the photoshoot and you will receive all unedited photos in a JPG small/preview size within 72 hours.
- Pick photos for editing within 2 weeks
- Notify me when you’re done choosing photos for editing
For events/reportages:
In most cases, all event photoshoots involve documentary-style photography. I’m the kind of photographer who overshoots to capture as many moments as possible. For this reason, there are a lot of files. Just trust me, you would get very tired of selecting your photos. However, I can provide you with partial access to the shots if, for example, it was a portrait session during a wedding. I also offer the opportunity to choose photos for tourist photo tours.
3. Depending on the season, delivery times vary
- For regular sessions, it typically takes around two weeks after you notify me of your photo selections.
- For event sessions, delivery times usually range from two to six weeks.
4. Edited photos are delivered in a private online gallery where you can download your photos in high-resolution and social-media JPG format.
5. Your online gallery will be available for 3 months, after which it will be automatically deleted. Therefore, please make sure to download the images and create your own backups. Additionally, you have the option to order an extension of your online gallery or request a restoration for an additional fee.
No images will be delivered until the final payment is made.
Can I select the photos I want to get edited in Hi-Res?
Yes, I give this opportunity to clients for regular photoshoots and for photo-tours! I was in the client’s place and personally, I prefer to choose photos of me myself and I decided that it is better when you as a client choose the pictures that you really like! I think it’s great, isn’t it?
To have this option, please let me know right after the photo session that you’d like to choose the photos yourself.
I upload all unedited JPG files (in preview/compressed size) to my website’s online disk within 72 hours after the end of the photoshoot and you will click on the hearts to select your shots for editing.
Also, if you want, I can choose the pictures at my discretion, in this case, you will receive your photos at the time specified in the client agreement.
However, if you don’t make photo selections within two weeks, I will handle this myself. I want to ensure a timely process for delivering your final photos.
For events/reportages: In most cases, all event photoshoots involve documentary-style photography. I’m the kind of photographer who overshoots to capture as many moments as possible. For this reason, there are a lot of files. Just trust me, you would get very tired of selecting your photos.
However, I can provide you with partial access to the shots if, for example, it was a portrait couple session during a wedding.
What kind of photo editing is included?
Editing includes adjustments, such as balancing color and light, white balance, cropping, and straightening, removal of temporary skin imperfections like pimples and blemishes, light skin smoothing, etc. Editing can be more natural or “cinematic”, lighter or darker, etc.
------------------------------------------------------------
You’ll do this in Photoshop, right? Will you retouch me so I look _______?
I do not retouch or alter my client’s appearance. If this is something you want, you can order this as an add-on.
Retouching (deep skin retouching, body volumes, removing crowds in the background, etc.) in Photoshop is not included but can be requested for an additional fee of $20, see more info here.
You should be aware that not all photos can be cleaned from crowds in the background and not all photos provide an opportunity to change the shape of your body.
What if I’ll like more edited Hi-res photos?
If you would like to get more of your edited/high-resolution photos, you can follow this link.
I don’t give clients high-resolution unedited photos, they don’t represent my real work. Even if you like how your original photos look without editing, I still have to do some basic editing (if you want to keep everything as natural as possible).
Do you provide printed photos?
At this time, I do not offer printed photos as part of my photography services. However, I am happy to recommend great places where you can get your photos printed. Since I provide photos in the highest possible resolution, you’ll be able to print them on a variety of mediums, including large paintings if you so desire. So while I don’t offer printed photos myself, I’m always happy to help my clients get the most out of their photography experience.
What format will I receive my photos in?
You will receive your photos in high resolution in digital JPG format.
Additionally, in your gallery, you will have the option to download images optimized for social media.
Do you shoot on film cameras?
No, sorry, I do not use film cameras for my photography work. However, I can create the desired aesthetic of film photography for your images.
Preparing for the Photo Session
What time of day is it better to plan a photoshoot?
The ideal time of day for a photoshoot can vary depending on the type of photography you’re doing and the desired atmosphere or lighting conditions. Here are some considerations for different times of the day:
1. Morning (Sunrise):
- About 20 minutes before sunrise and 1-2 hours after sunrise.
- Morning light is soft, golden, and has a warm tone.
- It’s excellent for portrait sessions, especially outdoor ones, as the light is flattering and not too harsh.
- Sunrise offers a unique and peaceful atmosphere.
2. Late Afternoon (Golden Hour):
- About 1-3 hours before and during sunset.
- The “golden hour” occurs in the hour or so before sunset.
- The light during this time is soft, warm, and creates long shadows.
- It’s often considered the best time for outdoor portraits and landscape photography due to its flattering quality.
3. Overcast and rainy Days:
- Cloudy or overcast days provide soft, diffused light with minimal shadows.
- These conditions are suitable for a wide range of photography, as they minimize harsh highlights and shadows.
- Don’t be scared because of rain, rain it’s a perfect time when we can shoot without crowds in some popular locations.
4. Midday (Less preferable):
- Midday sun can be harsh and result in strong shadows and highlights, which may not be ideal for portraits.
- However, it can work well for certain types of photography, such as high-contrast and artistic shots.
5. Night/Low Light (Less preferable):
- Nighttime photography, often with artificial lighting, is ideal for capturing cityscapes, astrophotography, and creative long-exposure shots.
- I use a flash-light for low-light photography.
Ultimately, the best time for a photoshoot depends on your specific goals and the mood you want to convey in your photographs. It’s also important to consider your and my availability and comfort, as well as any logistical factors such as location and weather conditions.
What should I wear for the photoshoot?
First, we’ll decide on the concept and location for the photoshoot. Once we have a clear idea, we can either select outfits that match the concept/location, or choose locations that complement the outfits you already have
I provide my clients with mood boards containing outfit ideas, and if needed, I can share links to specific clothing items. In any case, my primary recommendation is that you feel comfortable and like yourself in the chosen attire. Your comfort is key to great photos.
If trying new or unusual styles is comfortable for you, that’s fantastic! However, if it feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable, it’s perfectly fine to stick with what makes you feel at ease. Your confidence and comfort will shine through in the photos.
Additionally, I recommend bringing extra outfits to change into during the session. This gives us more options and variety in your photos. Please keep in mind that changing outfits does take up some time during the photoshoot. If you’re a quick changer and don’t require a very private space, you’re welcome to bring as many outfits as you’d like to enhance the variety of your photos. During a one-hour photoshoot, clients usually have enough time to use two different outfits.
I'm camera shy and don't know how to pose or move during a photoshoot. Can you help me feel more comfortable and guide me through the process?
Absolutely! Many people feel camera shy and don’t know what to do, and that’s completely normal. My goal is to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere during the photoshoot. I’ll provide directions and suggestions for poses and movements that suit your style and personality. You don’t need to worry about posing; that’s my job. Just be yourself, and I’ll capture your genuine personality.
If you have any specific concerns or preferences, feel free to communicate them with me before the shoot. I’m here to make the experience enjoyable and stress-free. You can also bring a friend or family member to the photoshoot for emotional support if that helps you feel more at ease.
Additionally, if you’re very worried about posing, I advise you to watch YouTube videos like “how to pose” or “simple poses” and practice them in front of the mirror. This can help you feel more prepared and confident during the shooting.
Ultimately, my aim is to capture your true self and provide you with beautiful photos that you’ll cherish.
Can I bring my pet to the photoshoot?
Of course! I absolutely welcome your furry, feathered, or scaly friends to join in on the photoshoot. Pets are part of the family, and their presence can add a wonderful and personal touch to your photos. Just let me know in advance, so I can make any necessary arrangements to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for both you and your pet during the session.
Logistics and Special Requests
(Locations, Traveling, and More)
Can I choose a location? How many can I choose?
Absolutely, you can choose a location for your photoshoot, and I’m here to make it a seamless experience for you. Here’s how it works:
Choosing a Location: If you already have a location in mind, great! We can plan to shoot there. Just keep in mind the time allocated in your chosen package.
No Specific Ideas? No Problem!: If you don’t have a specific location in mind, don’t worry. I’ll ask you some guiding questions to understand your preferences, and I can suggest suitable locations for the photoshoot. I have a list of diverse locations that I can provide to you for inspiration.
Defining “Location”: When I refer to a “location, ” I mean a neighborhood or a group of spots that are nearby. For example, if you’ve booked a 1-hour package, it’s best to choose one neighborhood due to time constraints. We can combine different spots within that location (e.g., Gapstow Bridge + The Mall + Bethesda Terrace + Bow Bridge) or select two locations that are close to each other, such as Dumbo Park + Brooklyn Bridge Park.
More Time, More Options: If you opt for a 1.5 or 2-hour session, we have the flexibility to explore more places. We can either walk between locations or use convenient transportation options like Uber or the subway. Additionally, with more time, I can capture more photos, which means you’ll receive a greater variety of images.
Customized Route: When you book your session, we can work together to create a route that includes your favorite places. I’m here to assist you every step of the way, ensuring that your photoshoot is tailored to your preferences and needs.
I want a photo shoot in a photo studio/hotel/attraction, etc. Is it possible?
Yes, it is possible! However, you need to know that the client is responsible for covering additional fees and costs related to location choice (transportation, parking, admission fees, photo studios, etc). If the Client wishes a Photographer to participate in any activities, the Client will need to cover their fees as well.
The client is responsible for booking a location and paying for travel expenses.
If you want me to come to your city, then the photo session price will be higher because I will need to book a hotel and spend time and money on the road to you. All this is discussed personally.
What happens if it rains on the day of the photoshoot?
Weather can be unpredictable, but I’ve got it covered! If rain is in the forecast, I’ll keep a close eye on it leading up to our scheduled session. Here’s how I typically handle rainy situations:
Rescheduling: If the weather forecast indicates heavy rain, I may recommend rescheduling the session to a more suitable day.
Atmospheric photoshoot during the photoshoot: If rescheduling isn’t possible or you’d prefer to proceed as planned, we can consider alternative indoor locations or covered areas that provide suitable lighting and protection from the rain.
Some clients love the unique atmosphere that rainy weather can bring to a photoshoot. If you’re up for it, we can incorporate props like umbrellas or rain boots to make the most of the rainy day aesthetic.
A significant advantage of shooting in the rain in NYC is that it often allows us to capture shots in popular locations without the usual crowds, creating a distinct and intimate atmosphere.
What if I need to reschedule my session?
Reach out as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. Your booking fee is non-refundable but can be transferred once to a new session date within six months from the original date of the photoshoot.
Also, it’s important to note that for special seasonal shoots or if it’s located outside of NYC, rescheduling may not always be possible. In such cases, the session would be considered canceled from the client’s side.
Anyway, I’m committed to finding the best solutions and accommodating your needs to the best of my ability. Just reach out, and we’ll work together to ensure you have a great photography experience.
Is it possible to extend the photo session?
If I have time available after the original end time of the photo session with you, yes, you can extend the photo session.
Can you travel for photoshoots outside of NYC, and do you charge a travel fee?
Absolutely! I’m available as your photographer in any city across the United States.
For photoshoots outside of New York City, the minimum package available is the Advanced package, which covers up to 2 hours of photography.
If I announce a specific trip to a location outside of New York, then 1-hour photo sessions will be available during that trip.
For locations more than 10 miles from zip code 11104, a travel fee will be applied.
It’s important to note that I don’t drive, so my primary mode of transportation is public transit or ride services like Uber or Lyft. The client is responsible for covering the round-trip travel costs, which may include transportation expenses such as airplane, train, bus, or ride services, as well as expenses related to overnight stays, hotel accommodations, meals, and the travel time I spent. All these details are discussed on a case-by-case basis.
I need event/special occasion shoot. Could you provide more info?
I would be delighted to capture any of your events, whether it’s a birthday, bridal shower, baby shower, party, etc.!
The minimum booking duration for events is 2 hours.
The price is $725 for 2 hours of photography coverage, and each additional hour is $350.

Other questions
What if I need a smaller photoshoot?
So as you can see, the Standard photo package includes up to 1 hour of shooting time, which gives us plenty of time to capture all the shots we need. However, if we achieve your photo goals within 30 minutes, we can certainly wrap things up early.
I’m the kind of photographer who always strives to provide you with as many photos as possible to choose from, and that usually takes about an hour. In the past, I offered shorter photoshoots, but I found that they often went over time, so now I only do them on special photo days or during certain seasons.
I don’t need so many photos, can I have less?
Yes, as you can see in the photo package information it says “up to”, meaning you can choose any number of images up to that specified number.
Can I receive edited photos faster? I need it ASAP!
I understand that sometimes you may need your edited photos more quickly. I offer rush delivery options for an additional fee to accommodate your timeline:
5-day rush fee

- For event photoshoots (more than 2 hrs) — $300
48-hr rush fee
- For regular photoshoots (up to 2 hrs) — $150
- For event photoshoots (more than 2 hrs) — $450
